Beam-type rack units

Heavy-duty shelves (also known as pallet shelves or beam shelves) are the most powerful and widely applicable shelves in the warehousing and logistics system. They are designed for storing heavy and bulky goods and are usually used with forklifts.

1. Core features

• Ultra-high load-bearing capacity: single-layer load-bearing capacity can reach 500kg~3000kg, or even higher (customized models can exceed 5 tons).
• Structural strength: high-strength cold-rolled steel/hot-rolled steel is used, the column thickness is usually ≥1.5mm, and the beam is equipped with a safety buckle to prevent falling off.
• Space utilization: supports high-position storage (height can reach more than 10m), suitable for automated stereoscopic warehouses.
• Applicable pallets: standard design matches European standard/Chuan-shaped pallets (sizes such as 1200×1000mm, 1100×1100mm)

2. Main types
① Beam-type heavy-duty shelves (most common)

• Structure: column + beam + cross beam, no layer board, directly place the pallet.
• Advantages: flexible access, low cost, compatible with all types of forklifts.
• Application: manufacturing raw material warehouse, cold chain logistics center.

② Narrow aisle rack (VNA rack)

• Features: The channel width is only 1.6m~2m, and a special three-way forklift is required.
• Advantages: Space utilization is 30%~50% higher than the beam type.
• Applicable: high-value, high-density storage (such as food and beverage industry).

③ Double-depth rack

• Design: The front and back rows of the rack are arranged in parallel, and the depth is doubled.
• Advantages: The storage capacity is increased, but a telescopic forklift is required to access the rear row of goods.

④ Heavy-duty loft rack

• Combination form: Use heavy-duty racks as support to build a two-story/three-story steel platform.
• Purpose: Small goods sorting area or equipment placement platform.

3. Typical application scenarios

• Manufacturing: Storage of steel, molds, and large equipment parts.
• Third-party logistics: Centralized storage of palletized goods.
• E-commerce distribution center: temporary storage area for bulk commodities.
• Automotive industry: storage of heavy parts such as tires and engines.

4. Safety and installation points

• Seismic design: High-level shelves (>6m) need to be equipped with seismic pull rods and foot guards.
• Installation process:

Safety regulations:

• Overloading or unilateral centralized stacking is prohibited.
• Anti-collision barriers are required in the forklift operation area.
• Check the tightening status of bolts regularly.
